The Communications and Media Commission of Iraq has introduced regulations for the 446.0–446.2 MHz frequency band, effective September 2025. The rules limit usage to short-range voice communication via PMR446 devices, set a maximum power of 0.5 W ERP, and require type-approved equipment compliant with ETSI standards. Commercial use is prohibited, and violations can result in fines up to 250,000 IQD and equipment confiscation. Annual registration fees apply based on entity size.
