Moldova Renames Its Communications Authority: ANRCETI Becomes ARCOM

Beginning 1 January 2026, Moldova’s national authority overseeing the communications sector enters a new chapter with a refreshed institutional identity. The former National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) officially becomes the National Communications Regulatory Agency – ARCOM.

This change is introduced through the Electronic Communications Law No. 72/2025, as well as the newly approved Regulation on the Organization and Functioning of the National Communications Regulatory Agency, adopted by Administrative Council Decision No. 50/2025. The regulation sets out the agency’s legal status, mission, organizational structure, responsibilities, and newly established abbreviated name: ARCOM.
