European Commission Opens Consultation on Practical Guidance for the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)

The European Commission is developing a Communication that will explain how to apply key provisions of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), ensuring economic operators across the EU interpret and implement the regulation consistently, according to the consultation announcement. The guidance is intended to help manufacturers, developers, and other stakeholders understand their obligations under the CRA, including requirements related to digital products and lifecycle security, topics already outlined in the draft guidance structure.

To shape the final version, the Commission has opened a public consultation and encourages stakeholders to submit their feedback using the official template provided for this process, as stated in the consultation details. The CRA entered into force in December 2024, and several of its phased obligations—such as reporting requirements and full regulatory application—will progressively apply over the coming years, as reflected in the implementation timeline.
