On August 28, 2025, the Republic of Moldova adopted an amendment to Law No. 235/2011 on Accreditation and Conformity Assessment.
The amendment modifies Article 31 of the law to introduce the recognition of EU conformity assessments for specific product categories. Under the new provisions, radio equipment, electrical equipment, and electronic devices that:
have undergone conformity assessment procedures carried out by EU-notified bodies,
fully comply with applicable EU directives, and
bear the CE marking and are accompanied by a valid EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC),
will be recognized as compliant in Moldova and will not require additional conformity assessment procedures to be placed on the Moldovan market.
This regulatory alignment strengthens Moldova’s integration with the European Union’s internal market framework, facilitating trade, reducing technical barriers, and streamlining market access for EU-compliant products.
The amendment will enter into force on February 28, 2026. From that date, manufacturers and importers will be able to market EU-compliant radio and electronic equipment in Moldova without undergoing duplicate conformity evaluations.
