PTA Authorizes Launch of 5G Services in Pakistan

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has officially authorized Jazz, Ufone, and Zong to begin offering 5G services across Pakistan, marking a major milestone in the country’s digital advancement.

To ensure a reliable and high‑quality user experience, the rollout will take place in phases, with services initially available in selected areas where networks are fully prepared. Coverage will expand gradually as infrastructure is optimized.

To support consumers, all three mobile operators will publish updated information on their official websites, including:

  • Areas where 5G services are currently available
  • Lists of 5G‑compatible smartphone models supported in Pakistan

Only approved 5G‑enabled devices will be able to access the service in covered locations. Availability may vary depending on location, network readiness, and device compatibility. Users are advised to enable 5G settings and ensure their devices are updated to the latest software version for the best experience.

PTA reaffirmed its commitment to a smooth, transparent, and consumer‑focused transition to next‑generation connectivity, reinforcing Pakistan’s journey toward a digitally connected future.
